A 4 m or 4.5 m cutting is a length of fabric, not a guaranteed suit size. The amount you need depends on your measurements, the usable fabric width, kameez length, shalwar or trouser style, and the tailor’s cutting plan. Ask your tailor before purchasing if you are unsure.
It is tempting to choose a cutting from height alone. That leaves out several details that can change the amount required. A longer kameez, a fuller shalwar, extra pockets or the way pattern pieces fit across the fabric can all affect the plan.
What changes between 4 m and 4.5 m?
A 4.5 m cutting contains half a metre more length than a 4 m cutting. That extra length may give a tailor more flexibility, but it does not guarantee a fit or mean the shorter cutting will be insufficient. Width and the intended garment design must be considered together with length.

Adding two suits to the cart does not by itself confirm that they will be supplied as a single continuous length. This matters for designs that need longer panels or a specific cutting arrangement.
Inspect the fabric before it is altered
When your parcel arrives, check the colour, cutting and condition. Keep the labels and packaging while you inspect it. Resolve questions with the store before handing it over for cutting or washing, because those steps can change return eligibility.

Does “unstitched suit” include tailoring?
